Artist Bio

I'm San, the artist behind SanBCreative — a studio practice built on a love of nature, color, and the quiet power of handmade things. I'm based in Raleigh, North Carolina, where I paint in watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and mixed media.
My subjects are almost always drawn from the natural world: the glow of a late-afternoon sky, the delicate architecture of a wildflower, the way still water holds light. I'm drawn to the moments most people walk past, and I paint them so they can be noticed, remembered, and kept.
I came to painting through healing. Art gave me somewhere to put what I couldn't say, and eventually it gave me a vocation. That origin story matters to me; it's why I care so much about making work that actually lands somewhere in people. Not just decoration. Something that lives on the wall and gives back.
I work primarily in watercolor because it asks me to surrender a little. You can't fully control water and pigment on paper, and that's the point. The medium teaches patience and presence. Each layer dries differently. Every painting is a negotiation.
My studio is in Raleigh, and I show my work regularly at markets and exhibitions across North Carolina, including the Raleigh Film & Art Festival and the Golden Belt Artists Community Exhibition. I also offer original work through this site. Shipped carefully, with a certificate of authenticity, directly from my studio to your home.
If you're a collector, I hope you'll browse the originals. If you're looking for a gift that actually means something, the cards and paper goods are made with the same care. And if you're just here because something caught your eye — I'm glad you found your way here.
Thank you for being here.
